Agora Network’s automated delivery kiosk boosts last-mile logistics

LuxTurrim5G Ecosystem Partner in Spotlight

Agora Networks Oy is a company whose goal is to revolutionize the “last mile” of local logistics with a completely new type of intelligent parcel delivery kiosk and business model. The Agora 24/7 parcel delivery kiosk is a new piece of smart urban furniture which is combined with outdoor advertising, air quality measurement and, for example, a local area network base station.

The concept offers many benefits to different stakeholders: for consumers, it means a safe and always-accessible parcel kiosk, for logistics companies an efficient and fast parcel delivery, and for cities, multi-purpose urban furniture that can efficiently and sustainably provide residents with a variety of services.

"According to recent studies, consumers clearly prefer parcel delivery kiosks over service points, for example, because they are safe, easy to use and offer a high-quality experience," says Mika Salokangas, CEO of Agora Networks.

Agora has been developing the automated parcel delivery kiosk from concept and first prototypes towards commercial product as part of the LuxTurrim5G ecosystem. For the ecosystem this device is an important part of smart urban furniture in addition to the smart poles and smart and safe bus stops already realized, and several other products concepted. The new version of the smart delivery kiosk was launched in February and has been in heavy test use in a real city environment in Jätkäsaari, Helsinki.
